AP Literature Blog    --      English 12 Honors Blog    --    Brit Lit Notes Blog     -- Class Wiki -  CEYO
_____________________________________________________________________________
blog 1. noun. A contraction of "web log," a form of on-line writing characterised in format by a single column of chronological text, usually with a sidebar, and frequently updated.

It’s Real Virtual
Although you are communicating via electronic media, a connection that is akin the telephone, email, or instant messaging, which are all instances where we might often express ourselves informally, remember we are “meeting” here with a scholarly focus. Integrity, dignity, courtesy, and intellect are pillars that support such discourse. This does not mean you cannot be friendly, conversational, or tentative. A blog is a great place to share what you know, ponder, contend, ask questions, float ideas, bounce ideas, and reflect. Just remember what you submit to cyberspace eventually reaches a destination in the real world of real people. “Virtual” is the operative word in “virtual discussion.” You truly are responsible for what you say and what you say really is received by real people. Blogging comes with real benefits and real consequences. So proofread and think twice before you hit “submit.” Blog with your best self.

ASSESSMENT

Scoring will be based on meeting assignment requirements and quality of expression, including focus on topics, specifity of textual support, evidence of research, critical thinking, perception, interpretation, reflection, and insight.

NOW, TO BEGIN
Please bear in mind the assignment, assessment criteria, and rules. Be responsible to take care of our little Honors 12 corner of cyberspace practical and safe for all.

If you post something that affects the page adversely--quickly delete it and try again. If an image or color can enhance your communication--use  ; but, if it is just showy--forget it. The key here is scholarship, courtesy, and meaningful dialogue. Again, if you try something and it doesn't work, quickly delete, try something different and keep it simple and clear.

Use your best judgment when it comes to Communication, Trust, and Mutual Respect.....lest you pay some consequences. This is not the wild, wild west of the world wide web. All school rules apply. Abide....or deal with the sheriff.
